1. Small moments that make people smile

Our friends at Storythings shared a startling bit of research, showing that the vast majority of people are bored by B2B content. In 2025 we'll be flying the flag for events that embrace the fundamental joy of humans coming together in person. We love Canva's idea of colour coordinating keynote presentation design with presenters' clothes. It's a little thing, but it would make you smile.

2. AI being used to generate evolving live content

In 2024 we've been creating a lot of visual content for events using AI. In 2025 we want to use AI to generate live content within events. Inspiration includes prompt battles and recursive art.

3. Sensory ways to bring data to life

In 2024 we worked with data sonification company Loud Numbers. Events are the perfect environment for bring data and trends to life using sound. In 2025 we want to explore other sensory ways of helping audiences make sense of the world, Data Cuisine are top of the list. 

4. Experiences that are a force for good

Events are an of overt demonstration of what a business believes in. Designing experiences that demonstrate sustainable thinking, inclusivity and support for local communities is one of the best bits of the job. Here's to more Graffiti Grannies in 2025 and more Wow Grass and discovering lots of other responsible suppliers.

5. Conversations about experience design

Experience design is about designing the minutes of people's lives - a pretty amazing job. It's a relatively new discipline and not particularly well understood, but people are increasingly building processes and design models that make sense of it. In 2024 we enjoyed Abraham Burickson's book, and in 2025 we'll be looking for every opportunity to add to the conversation.
